The new tradition of a children's hike is going to Kaunas!

Dive into education in nature. We invite you to the little-studied Lampėdžiai – after all, there is so much new and unknown here. The little ones will be interested in seeing rare species of birds and plants, getting acquainted with the ancient Baltic settlements, and exploring the lake, which was once home to the GDL castle! New surprises and games will be waiting for you at every stop to keep your motivation from fading, and after completing the route, you will be decorated with medals to symbolize a small victory

Everyone is invited on the 23rd of April: little hikers and their parents, classmates, educators, friends, grandparents.

3 km: or a third of Lampėdis! This route is balanced for families with the smallest hikers – who ride in a stroller and can already walk on their own! We don’t promise, but there’s a chance you’ll meet the wood sandpiper, the common redshank, the common kingfisher, or even a white-backed woodpecker while walking the forest trails. The Lampėdžiai forest park is home to these rare bird species.

5 km: or half of Lampėdis! On the flooded meadows of the Nemunas, on the trails of Lampėdžiai forest park, on the shore of Lampėdis lake – with a classmate, mother, friend, or sister. The latter will even be able to take pictures near the Pine Sisters! Strangely grown „relatives” will stun not only in shape but also in height. To view the 22-meter-high forest spindleshanks, you will need to raise your heads very, very high. You will be able to take this route with a stroller.

7 km: or all of Lampėdis! You will walk along the much-beloved lake Lampėdis southern shore, which replaced the impressive Ritterswerder castle built in the Middle Ages. Nowadays, it is a kingdom of lush forests surrounding the lake and rare plants and animals. Continuing, you will find yourself near the confluence, where the father of rivers – Nemunas – takes the slow Nevėžis into its arms. Like the 3 km and 5 km routes, you can travel this route with a stroller.

13 km: or the surroundings of Lampėdžiai and Romainiai! After starting the hike on the Nemunas riverbank, you will continue it around Lampėdis, towards Romainiai. The track will include forests, picturesque coastlines, panoramas, and stories. You will walk through the Baltic settlements, castles, and manors built in the time of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, all of which are no longer visible to the naked eye. Their place took the  10th Fort of the Kaunas Fortress, whose remains are now shaded by the nature of impressive beauty. Later, everyone will be rewarded with the spectacular panorama of the Nemunas and Nevėžis confluence reserve and Lampėdis seen from the top of the Veršvai mound.
