7 km with „CurioCity“: don’t be fooled – the shortest route will not leave out memorable objects and shots worth Instagram! Every single child, from 1 year old to 99 years old, will be delighted by the Marine Veterans exposure, which will allow not only to see the giants who have completed their service at sea but also to feel like a captain for a moment! The Smiltynė Kurhaus or the Ethnographic Seaside Fisherman’s Farmstead, which represents the rich history of the region will be no less marvelous, but in the end, stepping on the wide beach of Smiltynė to admire the enchanting views of the Baltic Sea will win everyone’s heart.

13 km: twice as much seaside! After admiring the views of the Baltic Sea, you will continue your hike on the shore of the Curonian Lagoon. From here – Klaipėda as in the palm of your hand. As you walk, you will watch the passing ships, and somewhere in the distance, you will see the old towers of the Lithuanian seaport. The pinnacle of the hike will be the star of the quay – Smiltynė Kurhaus – a famous cultural center reminiscent of the bustling life that was once here.

25 km:  watch as the Curonian Lagoon connects with the Baltic Sea! This route stretches not only along the picturesque shores of the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Spit but also along the paths of the regenerating Smiltynė forests. They have many historical curiosities. A concrete path leading up to the dune will lead to the Alksnynė Defense Complex. This object that once protected Klaipėda from the Soviet air raids will grab the attention of military history enthusiasts who want to unravel the secrets of the mysterious fortification.

34 km: go for forest therapy! This route is perfectly balanced for nature lovers, but it also has a light cultural spice. You will walk along the shore of the Baltic Sea after exploring the Alksnynė Defensive Complex and the Smiltynė Kurhaus, and later on, travel the paths of the regenerating Smiltynė forests. Listening to the forest silence will make you forget all the problems and merge with the spirit of nature. The nearby Bear Head Observation Deck will offer a bird’s eye view of the unique coastal nature and a panoramic view of the rippling waters.

50 km with „Eglės sanatorija“: towards Juodkrantė! Hiking along the sunny Smiltynė beach in September, you will travel to Juodkrantė, which will be permeated by the smells of nets, tar-covered boats, and smoked fish. The most valuable part of the forests of the Curonian Spit, located in the vicinity of the town – the old-growth forest, the paths of which will lead to the Hill of Witches, ruled by mythical creatures. Stop nearby to enjoy the forest symphony. It will be presented to you by the Sound Catcher, which enhances the „soundtrack” of the forest. The Juodkrante Lighthouse, which has been helping wanderers find the shore for almost seventy years, will prevent you from losing your way, and all the tired hikers will be able to catch their breath watching the lagoon landscape sitting on the 2-meter-high Chair for Two.

100 km with „Halls“100 times more adventure! To keep you afloat, Smiltynė, Juodkrantė, Pervalka, and Preila will open their broad beaches, dunes reminiscent of the distant African landscape, cozy bird-watching towers, and monuments suggesting a rich history of the region. We promise that, halfway to the top of the Vecekrug Dune, you will quietly promise yourself to repeat the hike!
