Winter greeting in Anykščiai!

This is a place that inspired Antanas Baranauskas himself, famous for the stone lost by the devil and the path nestled in the treetops. That’s right – this is Anykščiai, where you’ve probably already been as a tourist, but not as a hiker.

Therefore, we invite you to a hike led by none other than Šventoji, the most beautiful in Lithuania. No, it’s not a girl, but a river, that you will follow along while collecting the kilometers and see the most beautiful objects of the city. They will fit into scenic routes of 11, 20 and 32 km. Which track on  December 2nd will you choose?

Tickets for the event are limited.

„Going to the woods – it’s even eye-popping,” said Antanas Baranauskas. You will be able to confirm or deny this romantic line yourself by walking in the famous Forest of Anykščiai . The Šventoji river, called the most beautiful of many, slowly flows through it, and you will get to know its coast from both sides. After crossing the bridge, you will meet a relative of the Anykščiai celebrity here. This is Puntukas brother, who resembles a gaping beast. Next to it, the Queen’s Marsh that is no less interesting. Locals say that the queen’s carriage once rumbled through it, giving the forest-surrounded water source its name.

Through the forests to the Dzūkai Sea! „What seas,” the skeptics will say. But their comments will soon fall silent when the name of the town of Jure appears on the route. Like a wave of the Baltic Sea, it’ll carry you to the wooden chapel of Jure and then accompany you to the picturesque footbridge over the Pilvė. After admiring the Dzūkija „seaside,” you will once again head into the endless forests of Kazlų Rūda, which will welcome you with all the autumn colors and guide you gently towards the finish line.
