An introduction to Palanga of the Tyszkiewicz. The history of the resort is inextricably linked to the legacy of the important Lithuanian noble family Tyszkiewicz. One of their most impressive traces is the Kurhaus. It was the first hotel in Palanga and became the heart of the resort. After exploring it, walk along Tyshkiewich Avenue, where the sculpture park is located. After admiring the most interesting works of artisans, make your way to the Amber Museum. This is the place where almost every vacationer takes a photo in summer. Maybe it’s time for a winter photo?
Guided by the love of Jūratė and Kastytis. You shouldn’t walk past the impressive church of Palanga. Go inside and after a look around, climb the observation tower for free. After admiring the romantic panorama of the resort, make your way to the beach. The sound of the sea will accompany you all the way to Naglis Hill. This is the place where the pagans once worshiped their gods and which today serves as a lookout point. Later, the woods will lead you to Love Avenue, where the lovers sculpture of Jurate and Kastytis is the highlight.
A date with Birute. As you wander through the cozy neighborhoods of the resort villas, you slowly reach the coast of the Baltic Sea. You won’t get bored here: on one side you’re surrounded by the sea, on the other you can see various sculptures and even a dune swing. Picturesque paths in the pine forest will later lead you to the statue of Birute. It is special because it is one of the few sculptures of women in Lithuania. If you’re not too lazy, you can climb Birute Hill later. It’s said that the mother of Vytautas used to light the sacred fire and was buried here. After taking a deep breath of ancient times, you’ll be rewarded with a view of the Baltic Sea coast.
Inspired by the fairy tale of Egle the Queen of the Serpents. Palanga is just like a fairy tale. Fabulously cozy, beautiful, lovely and interesting. Legends and myths are interwoven with reality here, which is best seen in the Palanga Resort Museum. Not only the outside is interesting, but also the inside, so don’t be afraid to open the door. Right after your visit, you’ll be guided to the Interactive Lithuanian Fairytale Park, where you can hear and touch the fairytales. Afterwards, you’ll set off to listen to the sea waves. They’ll accompany you to the Nemirseta dunes and the Sand Meadows viewpoint. As you admire the view here, remember that only the magical hand of nature has contributed to its creation.
