It’s official: Kazlų Rūda becomes the city of love and freedom for one day!

If winter has you curling up like a pretzel and hugging the radiator still leaves you cold, there’s only one thing that can warm you up – love! On February 15th, we’re heading to the forests of Kazlu Ruda, where LOVE and FREEDOM will be in the air. Forget the city chaos and take a breather in the great outdoors!

Picture this: you’re hiking through crisp, fresh air, surrounded by people whose eyes sparkle with love – for each other, for Lithuania, for nature, and for life itself. Sounds perfect, right?

Pick your adventure: 8 km, 16 km, 26 km, or 38 km – it’s your call! Whether you’re hiking for love, friendship, or for your country, this day will be packed with good vibes and unforgettable moments. Bring your open heart, and take it slow – no rush, just joy.

And here’s the twist: for the first time ever, those who wish are invited to leave their smart devices behind and try hiking off the grid. It’s your chance to truly connect – with yourself, with nature, or with the person walking beside you. So, are you in?

Like a perfect first date: short, sweet, and leaving you wanting more! Your journey begins on the Kazlu Ruda educational trail, where you’ll discover fascinating facts about the area’s history and nature. Deeper into the forest, an Observation Tower and a cozy campsite will invite you to pause, relax, and take in the stunning surroundings.

Just like a great romantic movie, this route will captivate you from the very first minutes— so don’t be surprised if you find yourself wanting more! Surrounded by breathtaking forests and your fellow hikers, take in the melodies of nature waking up around you. As you climb and descend the Vokiski kalnai, reflect on your most cherished moments of love and freedom.

A route designed for long talks, laughter, and bonding. As you head toward Kazliskiai, you’ll walk through the Marackai and Runkiai forests, surrounded by nature and great company. It’s the perfect chance to see who’s better at keeping track of kilometers—or motivating when tiredness kicks in. By the finish line, you’ll have created a new hiking story together.

This route is like true love: challenging, but worth every step. You will walk through forests with ancient trees full of stories, enjoy the peace of the Danieliai Forest, and follow beautiful winding paths. The sounds of the forest will mix with passing trains, and the quiet will remind you how nice it is to just be together. After this hike, love will surely be stronger—either for each other or for the forest!

THE PROCESS OF THE EVENT

ARRIVAL LOCATION
Participants of all routes must arrive at the starting point of the hike on their own – Kazlų Rūdos miesto parkas (54.74513, 23.49842).

PARKING
Parking in the parking lots located in the territory of the city.

REGISTRATION
After arriving to the start area, your ticket will be scanned (mobile versions accepted) and you will be handed out your participants bracelet.

STARTING
After registration, you are allowed to begin the hike on the designated time for your route, which can be found in the route comparison area.

DISH RENTAL
If you don’t have a bowl for food, a cup, or a spoon for lunch, you can rent these at the starting area for €0.50. You can return the dishes for reuse after finishing. The rental fee is non-refundable.

HIKING
Rest and assistance stops will be set up all across the hike route. You will also be able to replenish your water supplies, have a cup of tea, grab a snack and if need be, receive first medical assistance. Route distances may vary due to differences in GPS receivers and smart device tracking.

TRANSPORTATION AFTER TERMINATING YOUR HIKE EARLY
Participants wishing to terminate their hike early will have to get to the nearest rest and assistance stop. From there, they will be brought back to the start area by designated vehicles. For participants who have not completed the hike, e-mail the diploma will be sent by e-mail specified during registration by mail within 15 minutes after the finish is recorded in the registration system.

FINISHING
All of the hike routes are radial, thus you will start and finish and the same place – Kazlų Rūdos miesto parkas (54.74513, 23.49842). Here, the participants who have successfully completed their chosen route will be awarded with medals. The e-diploma will be sent to the participant by e-mail specified during registration by mail within 15 minutes after finishing.

When registering, all participants agree with hike regulations.

HIKE WITH YOUR OWN DISHES!

When we’re out in nature, it’s important to protect it. To cut down on plastic waste during our hikes, we’ve stopped using disposable dishes.

If you also believe in taking care of the environment, we encourage you to bring your own reusable items on the hike: a water bottle, a mug or thermos for tea, and a bowl and spoon for those on longer routes.
