A winter fairy tale begins in Druskininkai!

Hike in Druskininkai to calm the mind and relax the body. You don’t have to imagine what feelings the various wellness oases, parks, lakes and SPAs will evoke. Treat yourself, your family and your friends to a Christmas fairy tale in Druskininkai and let’s go hiking on the winter trails on 7 December!

As beauty and health go hand in hand, all four routes – 8, 12, 24 and 33 kilometers – offer fabulous views and constantly remind you of the benefits of hiking. The frost-covered meanders of the Nemunas River, the city’s architectural highlights and the healing nature will keep you going!

Endless excitement! The first steps will take you to the Nemunas River, wishing you a great last hike of the year! As you walk along the Ratnyčia River and pass the Wellness Park, you’ll feel like you’ve had a breath of vitality. The landscape of Druskonis Lake, which overlooks the Druskininkai City Museum, will surely make you think that this is a masterpiece created by nature and man.

Nature SPA! 12 km is a sentimental and beautiful number to start the first and last winter hike of the year. Not only the walk along the rivers flowing in Druskininkai but also the rest stop at the bend of the Nemunas will delight everyone! And the landscape of the Love Island Outcrop will intoxicate more than one hiker’s heart! Along the entire route, you’ll hike on pine trails, creating one long forest SPA treatment.

A peaceful oasis! On this route, you’ll cross a picturesque and legendary bridge located in a scenic place – at the confluence of the Ratnyčia and Nemunas rivers. It’s popular with tourists and honeymooners alike! The Sculpture Park will invite you to admire not only the winter forest but also the wooden objects. Finally, at the finish line, spot the Orthodox Church, the oldest masterpiece of wooden architecture in Druskininkai.

A winter fairytale! The route covers rivers and bridges, lakes and outcrops. Here beauty merges with winter magic and becomes a route for the toughest. You’ll discover that the Tree Cake Museum still has an unrivaled tree cake, which is the Guinness World Record holder and weighs almost 86 kg! After completing the Sun Trail, the winter paths will lead you to the outcrop of Love Island, where you’ll find spectacular natural landscapes.

THE PROCESS OF THE EVENT

ARRIVAL LOCATION
Participants of all routes must arrive at the starting point of the hike on their own – Vilniaus al. 11, Druskininkai (54.022628, 23.976164).

PARKING
Parking in the parking lots located in the territory of the city.

REGISTRATION
After arriving to the start area, your ticket will be scanned (mobile versions accepted) and you will be handed out your participants bracelet.

STARTING
After registration, you are allowed to begin the hike on the designated time for your route, which can be found in the route comparison area.

DISHES DEPOSIT
If you do not have a cup for tea, bowl and a spoon for lunch, it will be possible to borrow it in the starting area, leaving a 1€ deposit. The deposit will be returned after the hike by returning the borrowed dishes.

HIKING
Rest and assistance stops will be set up all across the hike route. You will also be able to replenish your water supplies, have a cup of tea, grab a snack and if need be, receive first medical assistance. Route distances may vary due to differences in GPS receivers and smart device tracking.

TRANSPORTATION AFTER TERMINATING YOUR HIKE EARLY
Participants wishing to terminate their hike early will have to get to the nearest rest and assistance stop. From there, they will be brought back to the start area by designated vehicles. For participants who have not completed the hike, e-mail the diploma will be sent by e-mail specified during registration by mail within 15 minutes after the finish is recorded in the registration system.

FINISHING
All of the hike routes are radial, thus you will start and finish and the same place – Vilniaus al. 11, Druskininkai (54.022628, 23.976164). Here, the participants who have successfully completed their chosen route will be awarded with medals. The e-diploma will be sent to the participant by e-mail specified during registration by mail within 15 minutes after finishing.

When registering, all participants agree with hike regulations.

HIKE WITH YOUR OWN DISHES!

When we’re out in nature, it’s important to protect it. To cut down on plastic waste during our hikes, we’ve stopped using disposable dishes.

If you also believe in taking care of the environment, we encourage you to bring your own reusable items on the hike: a water bottle, a mug or thermos for tea, and a bowl and spoon for those on longer routes.
